Your board of advisors, on demand

Octave is an AI advisory board for founders and operators. Instead of a single generic answer, your question goes to eight expert personas — each reasoning from a different, battle-tested framework — and a neutral synthesizer turns their perspectives into one decision you can act on today.

It's built for the moments a business decision touches more than one discipline at once: pricing that's really a positioning problem, a sales slump that's really a copy problem, a growth push that's really a cash problem. The board surfaces those tensions and The Chairman resolves them.

Each advisor is an AI persona modeled on public frameworks — not the actual person.

Frequently asked

How does a round work?+

You ask a question. A fast router picks the advisors whose expertise is relevant (at least three). Each selected advisor answers in parallel, streaming into its own card. When they finish, The Chairman reads every answer and returns one decision, a free tool to act on it, and any dissent.

Are these the real experts?+

No. Each advisor is an AI persona modeled on the public frameworks and teaching style of a well-known expert — not the actual person, and not affiliated with them. The value is the distinct lens each framework brings to your question.

What is a deep dive?+

Click any advisor to open a one-on-one chat with that persona. It remembers the board session, so you can push on its answer, ask for specifics, or work through your situation in depth.

Can it review a document?+

Yes. Drop a PDF, text, or markdown file onto the board (or attach it) and the full board reviews it — a proposal, a sales page, a contract. Add a question or leave it blank for a general review.

Which AI model does it use?+

You choose. The model selector next to “Ask the board” offers a range from fast-and-cheap (Haiku) to most-capable (Opus, Fable), each with a per-round cost estimate. The relevance router always runs on a fast model to keep routing cheap.

Is my data saved?+

Sessions, questions, advisor answers, and syntheses are stored so you can resume any session from the sidebar. Reviewed documents are stored with their question so a failed advisor can be retried.

What does “Make a prompt” do?+

It turns an advisor's answer into a reusable, copy-paste prompt you can hand to any AI assistant to actually implement the advice in your own business or project.

Can I re-run a question on a different model?+

Yes. After a round finishes, pick a different model in the selector and click “Re-run.” It runs the same question (and any attached document) again on the new model and keeps both results in your history so you can compare them side by side.

Can I export the answers?+

Yes. Each response has a PDF button, and a finished round has an “Export PDF” that bundles the question, every advisor's answer, and The Chairman's decision into one document — boardroom-minutes style. It opens your browser's print dialog, where you can save as PDF.

How do I organize my sessions?+

Create a project or company from the sidebar, then file any session into it with the folder control on each session row. Sessions you haven't filed sit under “Unfiled.” Deleting a project keeps its sessions — they just become unfiled.

Do I need an account?+

Yes — sign in with Google. Your sessions, projects, and history are yours and resume whenever you come back.
